Webelos Jamoree
September 12-14, 2014

Webelos Jamoree is right around the corner. This is a great opportunity for Troop 4 to get in front of cub scouts and show them how much fun we have!

Where: Menomonee Falls Park
Time: Meet at 4:30 pm at ETC on September 12. Retuning around 11 am on September 14
Cost: $15 / person

Do you know of a Webelos Den? We’d love to invite them to dinner on Saturday night. Let Rob or Dean know which pack and the den leader’s name so we can make contact.

Webelos Day Outing
October 30, 2014

Much like Webelos Jamoree, this is the chance to show off the troop! It’s a non-school day -- who wants to sit at home and be bored... Come to Lapham Peak and hang out with Webelos! We would like ALL scouts to attend.

Planning Lock-In
October 30, 2014

It’s almost time to plan for 2015! Mr. Landquist and the PLC have some exciting new ideas to make the planning more interesting and go quicker so you can enjoy the rest of the evening having fun together.

Before that happens: we need to know what you want to do!

If you have suggestions for outings (and parents, you’re included in this), the suggestion box will be out and you can write those ideas down. The box will be out starting at the next troop meeting and will stay out through September.

Creep-o-Ree -- A Minute to Win-it!
November 7-9, 2014

Compete in ten challenges using household items. 60 seconds are on the clock. Can you do it? There will be the same games and same difficultly level as the game show, with prizes. Saturday’s “costume” is unit or school spirit: wear your school colors or your troop’s activity shirt (decide amongst your group which you will do). There is a dance and Saturday’s lunch and dinner are included.

Cost: $35 / person by September 30th

Get the permission slip and turn in it!

Coed Camporee October Outing
October 17-19, 2014

We have been informed the Coed Camporee is not happening this year. We will still have an October Outing. Suggestions can be made to the PLC.

Fall Fundraiser

The Fall Fundraiser (Wreath, Popcorn, Cheese & Sausage) is coming up! Watch for more information from Mrs. Anderson with details, dates and sheets.

Troop 4 Portal

Want to know how much money’s in your scout account? Can’t remember if you signed up for an outing? You can find out on-line.

Check out the Troop 4 Portal -- http://www.esitec.net/t4/t4portal. Parents... You can now have your own logon. If you have more than one scout in the troop, you can associate all your scouts with one user name!

Email Liz with any questions.

Round Table Changes

Going into the fall, there are some changes to Round Table. For Boy Scouts, we will still be meeting the First Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise noted) from 7 - 8 pm. Our new location is St. John’s Lutheran Church on Davidson Road in Brookfield. OA chapter meetings have not been decided quite yet.

Please pass to cub scout leaders: There will be 2 cub scout Round Tables: the First Tuesday (at Trinity United Church of Christ in Brookfield) and the First Thursday (at St. John Northwestern Military Academy) from 7 - 8 pm. The program at both will be the same and they are encouraged to attend the one that works best for them.

September’s Quiz

  1. True or False: If you fill a football with helium, it will travel farther when thrown or kicked, thanks to the added hang time.
  2. A puffball, named for the way it releases spores, is part of what biological kingdom?
  3. If you get sprayed by a skunk, you can get rid of the smell by using: A. Beer. B. A mixture of soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. C. Tomato juice.

August’s Answers: 1) Pat and Debbie Boone. 2) False. 3) True.
