Summer Camp 2015
July 5-11, 2014

It’s not too early to start thinking about Summer Camp! Permission slips are out.

Information about merit badges offered is available. Sign up as soon as possible to get the badges you want. Space in some badges is limited.

Swimming Pre-Test Outing
March 20-22, 2015

It’s a weekend of fun, service, and advancement! We’re going to spend the weekend in a cabin in Mukwonago Park. Saturday we’ll come back for Scouting For Food. Sunday, we’re going to the Mukwonago YMCA for the summer camp swimming test.

This is an IMPORTANT outing to attend if you’re going to camp. Getting our swimming tests done ahead saves time at check-in at summer camp.

The permission slip is available.

Scouting for Food
March 21, 2015

We’re picking up the bags again this year. We need ADULT HELP! Parents, we need drivers to shuttle the boys and food. It’s an easy, fun service project.

Meet at ETC at 9 AM on March 21. The boys will be coming back from the cabin.

If you can’t go on the swimming outing, COME HELP FOR THE MORNING. We need a lot of scout help also: collecting food from the neighborhood, sorting it, counting it, boxing it, and delivering it to the Food Pantry.

This is a fabulous service opportunity for the scouts and really helps the community.

Spring Fundraiser

Product from the February sale will be delivered March 28 -- In time for Easter!

We are offering the Council’s spring fundraiser to anyone who didn’t get a chance to sell in February or wants to earn more money for Summer Camp (or Philmont!). See Mrs. Anderson if you’re interested.

April Outing - Troop Shoot & Scout Skills
April 24-26, 2015

Older scouts? Interested in a weekend of shooting sports fun? Come to the Troop Shoot. Cost: $68 includes all your ammunition!

Younger scouts? Not old enough for the Troop Shoot? We’re going to be working on early rank requirements -- possibly knocking out the 5-mile hike before the hot July weather of Summer Camp. Cost: $20 / person

Permission slips are out! Sign up now -- Troop Shoot space is limited by the Council.

OA Spring Conference
May 15-17, 2015

Didn’t get a chance to complete your Ordeal last fall? You can do it this weekend. OA Members who want to give service to Camp Long Lake? This is the weekend to get the camp ready for the Summer Camp season. Sign up directly with the Council through the Council Website.

Philmont 2016
August 7, 2016 for 12-Days!

Watch for information on practice hikes and fundraising.

A parent meeting was held in January. If you didn’t attend, contact Rob.

2015 Calendar

The new calendar is up on the Troop’s website. Please get the dates into your calendar now so we can get as many scouts as possible at the outings.

If you’d like to be involved by helping a scout coordinate the outing (making reservations, etc) let Jim Anderson know.

Troop 4 Portal

Want to know how much money’s in your scout account? Can’t remember if you signed up for an outing? You can find out on-line. Check out the Troop 4 Portal -- http://www.esitec.net/t4/t4portal. Parents... You can now have your own logon. If you have more than one scout in the troop, you can associate all your scouts with one user name! Email Liz with any questions.

March’s Quiz

  1. How many cows' guts are needed to string the average professional tennis racket?
  2. What amazing marine creature can assume the shape and behavior of more than a dozen other underwater species to make itself appear less palatable to predators?
  3. Why will no births be recorded between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. March 8th in most of the U.S.?

February’s Answers: 1) Sea, air, land. 2) Laettner was the only college player on the 12-member team. The rest were pros. 3) "Go ahead, make my day", which became Clint Eatwood's signature line.
