Governor Dodge Outing

Not going to Philmont? There’s still troop activities to participate in! The troop is camping at Governor Dodge State Park August 12-14.

August Highway Cleanup
August 30, 2016 - 6:00 PM

It’s time for another highway clean up. Meet at ETC (in front) at 6 pm. With enough scouts this should only take an hour! Earn service hours and put Troop 4 in front of the community.

Webelos Jamoree
September 9-11, 2016

It’s that time of the year again, time to introduce Webelos to Boy Scouting. Webelos Jamoree is a great opportunity to show off how much fun it can be to be a boy scout!

Where: Menomonee Falls County Park
Cost: $15 / person (+ $5 after August 9)

Swamp Fox Outing
September 23-25, 2016

Come help out at Swamp Fox! Troop 4 is the service troop for the 2nd weekend of Swamp Fox. What does that mean? It means we help run events, demonstrate skills and generally assist the leaders in putting on a fabulous weekend for cub scouts. Oh... And we also get to sleep in the OA cabin -- no tents to set up.

Cost: $5 / person

Devil’s Lake Outing
September 30 - October 2, 2016

It’s the Badger Trail’s Devil’s Lake Hike! A fun-filled hiking weekend complete with a dance Saturday night at Devil’s Lake State Park.

Cost: $35 / person (+ $5 after September 13)

Webelos Day Outing
October 27, 2016

It’s fast approaching -- the chance to show off what Troop 4 is like for Webelos I and Webelos II. Show them how much fun we have! Show them what a day is like on an outing! We’re heading to Lapham Peak and over the next month you’ll need to plan what activities we’ll do.

October 27, 2016

We’re running out of events! Get ready to decide what we’re doing in 2017! The suggestion box will be out starting with the August Troop Meetings. Put your suggestions in the box! Outing suggestions will be handed out at the beginning of October for research and then you’ll get to vote on your favorites!

Cost: $2 / person -- FREE if you go to the Webelos Day Outing!

Creep-o-Ree
November 4-6, 2016

It’s Halloween! The 16th Annual Creep-o-Ree is on! Costumes, activities, and a dance Saturday night. Space is LIMITED to 300 people - so sign ups need to be in EARLY.

Permission slips are out! Sign up by August 23 to reserve your spot!

Service Opportunities Coming Up

With the update to the Boy Scout program going into effect on January 1, the service requirements have been expanded. Here are the upcoming service opportunities in the Troop:

August 30 - Highway Clean Up
September 23-25 - Swamp Fox Outing

There will be one more high way clean up this year... Watch for the date.

Troop Elections

Start thinking about who you want to be Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders. Do you want to run? Is there another position in the troop you’re interested in? Troop elections are coming up at the End of September.

ILST - Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops
October 9, 2016 - 1 pm

It’s been a while since we ran this! It’s important for everyone who has a leadership position in the troop to attend. Learn what your responsibilities are. Get an introduction to leadership skills. Be there!

Boy Scout Advancement Updates

January 1, 2016, the Boy Scout rank requirements were updated.

If you are still on the OLD requirements you have until December 31, 2016 to finish the rank you are currently working on (working on Tenderfoot, Second Class or First Class under the old requirements you can finish up through First Class). After December 31, 2016 you will automatically switch to the new rank requirements -- there may be additional requirements for you to finish!
