Pancake Festival
February 18, 2017

Earn service and get to eat pancakes! The Boy Scouts provide service delivering seconds on pancakes, filling coffee carafes, and bussing tables. The troop will be there starting at 10:30 am.

February Outing
February 17-19, 2017

The PLC decided to have a weekend of activities at ETC. During the outing, everyone will go to the Pancake Festival to do service on Saturday.

Cost: $20 / person. Permission Slip available.

March Scouting For Food & Swimming Pre-Test Outing
March 17-19, 2017

** Dates listed here are correct and a change from pervious newsletter **

We’re having a backyard campout to shakedown from the winter. This is a fabulous first outing for our new scouts. We’ll be working on scout skills, learning how to set up tents and becoming familiar with troop equipment, and bonding as a patrol.

Scouting For Food bag pickup is March 18 and will happen as part of the outing.

This is an important outing if you’re going to summer camp -- the swimming tests for camp will be done during the outing. (Watch for details on when if you can’t come for the whole weekend.)

Cost: $30 / person (swim test only: $7 / person). Permission slips are available.

Troop Shoot
April 21-23, 2017

Enjoy a fun weekend of shooting competitions. All scouts 12 and over are invited to participate in Troop Shoot. (Some familiarity with shooting is recommended as there will not be time for instruction.) Participate in individual and team shooting contests.

Not 12? The troop invites you to come along and work on scout skills and enjoy the outdoors. Older scouts who don’t want to shoot, you’re invited to come as well.

Cost: $68 / Troop Shoot Scout (includes all ammunition , t-shirt- and lunch/dinner on Saturday)
$28 / Adult
$20 / Non-shooting Scout
Permission slips found here.

Bring a bag lunch for Friday’s dinner.

Summer Camp
June 25 - July 1, 2017

Summer Camp at Camp Long Lake is just around the corner. Summer Camp signups are now available. The early fee deadline is February 28.

There’s some exciting new things this year: including ATV trails.

Don’t forget that everyone MUST have a Part C (Doctor signed) medical form that is less than 12 months old for camp. Please, parents, when you have the doctor sign it, get them to put the date of their signature, not the last examination -- the camp must use whatever date is with the signature and it needs to be within the 12 months. Also, please WRITE the immunizations on Part B -- do not just include a separate sheet. This is for ease of treatment if anything happens as the camp knows to look at Part B.
