May 31, 2020

Hello,

Attached you will find a document generated by the Troop 4 Key 3 on Friday, 5/29, and reviewed by the troop committee and leaders today, 5/31.  Our intention is to begin meeting in person as troops again, but to try to do so responsibly.  Please review the document and let me know your feedback.

 Thanks,

While restrictions are starting to be lifted, we are going to remain with Virtual meetings for May (May 19 and May 26). Information about June will come out later.

4B: Remember the May 26 Virtual Troop Meeting will include the OA Elections -- It is important that as many Scouts as possible be on the Zoom meeting, because we need at least 50% attendance to hold the election. Everyone needs to watch this video before May 26th. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1IiiuDEdPJm5SIGCCXjNJa4-AIhrkWEzk-lGul5zIoHI/edit#slide=id.p During the meeting, we will explain the process and more about the Order of the Arrow.

We're still moving forward on getting ready Summer Camp. Crossover scouts have until May 27 to get their permission slips in and still pay the $315 price. Everyone else is now at $340 until May 27. (Yes, that is a slight difference from what's on the permission slip - Council has extended their payment dates as well.) Some of you still need to sign up for merit badges -- the form is on the Troop website.

Summer Camp Trailer Pack will be June 20.

Tentative pick up for the fundraiser will be June 11 -- watch for information about times (we may be spacing you out).

Update: Wisconsin's Safer at Home Order means in-person troop meetings have been cancelled through at least mid-April (currently the order lifts at 8 am on April 24).

Your Troop Leadership is working on ways we can keep active in Scouting during this time. This might be through virtual meetings, working on merit badges or other methods. Emails will be sent as details as worked out.

We are also keeping watch on information coming from Potawatomi Area Council about upcoming outings (Troop Shoot and Summer Camp especially) as well as the product sale and will update you as information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe.

Hello,

Circumstances in the state have changed since I sent you email last night. Gov. Tony Evers has ordered a ban on gatherings of 50 or more people in the state. In addition, the CDC has recommended that all gatherings over 10 people be cancelled for the next 15 days. We are therefore cancelling troop meetings for March effective immediately.

Your Scoutmaster team and Committee are committed to bringing you a quality Scouting experience and only make this decision regretfully, as a matter of good citizenship. We will resume troop activities as soon as possible. We will plan to hold troop elections in April if possible, using attendance data from prior to today to meet the requirements.

Watch your email for future updates.

Yours in Scouting,
---Boni Danner
