Additional Troop Meeting

The boys have decided to hold a third troop meeting a month. Troop meetings will be the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Please note the new meeting dates on the Troop Calendar.

An extra meeting means the boys will have time to do more than just planning for their next outing at troop meetings. They can work on merit badges and rank advancement or give them more free time.

Share Scouting with a Friend

”Share Scouting with a Friend” is the theme for fall recruitment this year. Troop 4 will be at Pack 163’s Pack Meeting September 15th.

Troop 4’s Join Scout troop meeting will be the September 20th troop meeting. Invite any friends you know who would like scouting and their parents to the meeting!

Planning Lock-In

We are still trying to get a planning lock-in put together. Bring your calendar to the next troop meeting. And please watch your email for details.

We need ideas for the upcoming year! Outings. Service projects. Fun camping destinations. Interesting museums. Merit badges to work on. So far we’re only got activities through November plus our Winter Campout in February.

Webelos Jamboree

September is Webelos Jamboree month!! Webelos Jamboree is a great way to showcase our Troop to a WHOLE BUNCH of Webelos II. This year, it’s being held in Menomonee Falls.

WHEN: September 16 to 18

TIME: Arrive at ETC at 4:30 pm on September 16. We’ll depart for Menomonee Falls at 5 pm. Return to ETC will be approximately noon on September 18.

COST: $15 per person

Please have your permission slips to Liz as soon as possible. Class I medical forms are required (see Liz if you don’t know if we’ve got yours).

** NEW ** Troop 4 has a Medication Card we are asking all parents to fill out. See Liz or the Troop Website for a copy of this form.

Creep-o-ree

Mark your calendar!! November 4-6 is Creep-o-ree.

Wreath Sale

This year’s wreath sale will start October 1st! Order sheets will be available at the September 27th troop meeting.

We will also be looking for some boys to take orders for wreaths at St. John Neumann after the masses one weekend. More information on the dates of this will be available later. Let Liz or Boni know if you are interested.

Wreath sales are a good way to earn money for troop activities. You can have Summer Camp completely paid for with wreath sales! Last year, three boys earned enough selling wreaths to pay for their Summer Camp. 100% of the profits from the sale goes into your Scout Account!

DATES: October 1 to October 26. Order forms MUST be back to Liz by October 26th.

WHAT: Wreaths and garlands from Winter Woods, Inc. Wreaths are available in multiple sizes. Also available are door swags, crosses and candy canes.

Fall Popcorn Sale

Another fund raising opportunity is the fall popcorn sale. Start thinking about if you’d like to sell popcorn this fall as well.

Don’t want to take orders and deliver popcorn later -- think about doing show-and-deliver (also called show-and-sell). That’s where you have the product in your car and you deliver it when you take the order. You can also use show-and-deliver in combination with take order.

If you want to do show-and-deliver let Liz know by SEPTEMBER 20th so we can order the popcorn. Show-and-deliver popcorn will be available October 7th.

DATES: October 7 to October 24. Order forms MUST be back to Liz by the October 25th troop meeting if you are doing take-order. NOTE these dates. This is a council-wide fundraiser. We CANNOT sell outside the dates of the sale.

WHAT: Popcorn!! Microwave, air-popper, caramel covered, cheese and chocolate covered popcorn!
