Position Elections

It's been six months since leadership positions were elected and it's time to elect the leadership for the next six months.

In addition to the SPL (Senior Patrol Leader), ASPL (Asst. Senior Patrol Leaders) and PLs (Patrol Leaders), there are a number of other positions in the troop that need filling!

Quartermaster: The troop's supply boss. He keeps an inventory of troop equipment and sees that gear is in good condition.

Scribe: The troop's secretary. Attends patrol leaders' council and keeps a record of the discussions. Helps the Troop Secretary (adult) with the troop's website and newsletter.

Instructor: A scout proficient in a Scouting skill that he then teaches to other scouts. A troop can have more than one instructor.

Chaplain's Aide: Assists the troop chaplain (adult) in serving the religious needs of the troop.

Troop Guide: Assists new scout patrols. Helps them feel comfortable with the troop and work towards First Class.

Creep-o-Ree

Troop 4 experienced a real adventure last weekend at Camp Long Lake. Creep-O-Ree lived up to its tradition of providing lots of fun activities on Saturday, including Aussie Ball, Alien Frisbee, Milk Crate Tug of War, and Trick or Treating, everyone in costume. Our gate turned out to effectively represent a skull as they boys had intended, and our treats were reportedly the best. Congratulation to Ben and Chris for winning the costume competition in our troop.

The long, cold, rainy night on Saturday will provide the boys something to talk about around future, less inclement campfires. We were very proud of how everyone pitched in to help break camp in the rain, a first time experience for our troop. I'm pretty sure the boys were glad they brought all that extra gear on this outing, since most of it went home wet.

Good Job, Guys!
