Families are welcome!

What to Bring? As this is an outdoor activity, dress appropriately! Hats, gloves, warm jacket. Dress to stay warm. If you are going to use your own equipment, bring it! Review the Cold Weather Clothing Checklist in the Scout Handbook (p. 204 & 322-324).

Start earning your SNOW SPORTS MERIT BADGE! This event qualifies for the Snow Sports Merit Badge (Downhill or Alpine Skiing). If you're interested, see the Scoutmaster about getting a Blue Card. You'll have to read the Introduction and Downhill Skiing section of the Merit Badge Booklet AND talk to a merit badge councilor BEFORE January 15th.

If you have any questions, see Craig Lange. He and Greg Schwartz have volunteered to coordinate this event.

Permission slips, money and medical forms are DUE DECEMBER 20th. We apologize for the short notice.

First Aid Merit Badge Clinic

We had eight boys at the First Aid Merit Badge Clinic on December 3rd. The boys completed 5 of the requirements for their First Aid Merit Badge!!

The troop is going to get the person who ran the clinic to come to a troop meeting sometime in the winter/spring to finish up the merit badge.

We also have the Blue Cards for any boys who attended back with the requirements they finished signed off.

Wreath & Popcorn Sale

We're just about done with the wreath and popcorn sale stuff.

PLEASE BRING THE REMAINING MONEY TO THE DECEMBER 20 TROOP MEETING.

I will be adding Scout earnings to their Scout Accounts only after all the money has been collected. Statements of how much is in your Scout Account will be sent out at the beginning of 2006.

If you aren't sure if you owe any additional money, email Liz.

Emergency Preparedness

Earn the Emergency Preparedness Award.

Requirements:
Participate in creating an emergency plan for your home and for your troop's scouting activities. Be sure you know the details of both emergency plans.
Earn the FIRST AID or EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS merit badge.
With your troop, including the leaders, participate in emergency preparedness training conducted by community emergency preparedness agencies.

The Award:
When a scout has fulfilled the requirements, a completed application is submitted to the Council. Upon approval, an Emergency Preparedness pin is awarded. The pin may be worn on civilian clothing or the uniform (centered on the left pocket flap).

See the Scoutmaster or Mr. Lange for more details or to sign up.

Swimming

The boys had oceans of fun at the Country Springs Water Park on Sunday, December 11th.

There were 8 boys there, which included three guests! Two potential new scouts!
