Trailer Packing
We are packing the Troop Trailer for Summer Camp Friday, July 7th
and if needed Saturday, July 8th. Times to be announced. Please sign
up to help. Anyone who has 8 foot pioneer poles should bring them to
one of the troop meetings in June so we can get them up onto the
trailer.Meet at ETC on July 9th at 10:00 am. It takes over
1 1/2 hours to drive up to Long Lake so we will meet at ETC between
10:00 and 10:30 AM to load the trailer with your stuff and make sure
everyone has transportation to Long Lake. Those who want to drive up
themselves should still meet at ETC for coordination and check in.
At check-in, all scouts MUST report to their patrol leader and have
what they are taking (or not taking) checked and approved. Adult
leaders will be available to assist the patrol leaders in this
check-in process. No equipment can be loaded onto the trailers until
the scout has checked in with their patrol leader.
We must arrive at camp as a complete unit so that we can be
processed together. If anyone is missing we may not be allowed
to check-in. Check in at Camp - 12:30 PM Sunday July 9th. Early
check-in is not possible and late check-in will cause the camp
schedule problems. Remember, they have a number of troops and
several hundred scouts to check-in so we need to do our part and be
on time. You will not be able to check-in at Long Lake independently
so it is imperative that we get there at roughly the same time.
Driver sign-up will be available at the Troop meetings in June so
that we can plan properly.
We must have current
Class 2 or
Class 3 health
forms for ALL youth and ALL adults. See Liz if you need forms.
Remember these forms must be signed by your physician and
yourself or your parent (fill out and sign both the Class 1 and
Class 2 on the forms). These forms should all be turned in to Liz by
June 27th. Also, other than
inhalers and normal scout approved personal first aid kits, NO
medication is allowed in the scout's tents. All medication along
with a medication card must be turned in at check in at ETC. We will
keep the medications in a Troop medication box and will dispense it
only in accordance with your medication card instructions. This is
for the safety of everyone.
Health rechecks and swim tests will follow shortly after check-in
so some of our camp site will be set up after the tests. Anyone,
scout or leader, who has not been swim tested THIS year is required
to take the swimming test to establish your ability and make your
buddy tags. If you were at the March outing you have been tested and
rated so you should not need to retake the swim tests. Everyone must
go to aqua land at the time of the swim test to get their buddy
tags, even if they've already been tested and rated.
June
27th is the last Troop meeting before Summer Camp and we want to
have everything set before then. The 27th is an important meeting so
please try to be there before 6:30 pm so we have time to answer all
questions.
Summer Camp Equipment - A list will be posted on the Troop
4 website and a printed copy will be available at the troop meetings
beginning June 20th. This list will also include some do's and
don'ts for both the scout and their parents. Scouts (not parents)
are responsible for having the proper equipment for summer camp or
any troop outing. Time to step up scouts and take responsibility for
yourself. |
