The next leader meeting is on January 7th at 12:30 pm at ETC.

The next Roundtable is January 3rd at 7 pm at Butler Middle School.

Popcorn & Wreath Money

Almost all the money has been turned in. Liz has talked to everyone that still has money left to turn in.

Profits will be placed into the Scouts' accounts by the end of December.

Council Ski Days

For any scouts interested, the Council is sponsoring Ski Days at Sunburst again this year.

Dates: December 27, 2006 AND/OR January 14, 2007 (pick one or go to both)
Registration is from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Ski from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Cost: $37 - Ski lift, equipment rental & lessons
$34 - Ski lift and lessons
          $15 - 3 hours of tubing

Pack 163's Pinewood Derby

FYI -- Pack 163 will be having their Pinewood Derby in January 2007. We will be looking for Scouts to run the races for the Pack.

When: January 18, 2007
Time: Set up 6 pm -- Races start 7 pm
Where: Bethesda Elementary School Gym

Yes, this is earlier than last year. We will need scouts to set up the track, run the races, keep a bit of control around the track, and take everything down at the end of the evening.

Sign-ups will be available in January.

Pancake Festival

Troop 4 will be helping with the Waukesha Rotary Pancake Festival on February 17th, 2007. This is an opportunity to get service hours.

More information will be available in January.

Citizenship in the World

Unfortunately, this merit badge clinic is closed and there will not be a second session. We were not able to get into the session as it filled VERY quickly. We are looking for another activity for the morning of February 10th... Swimming pre-testing will still happen in the afternoon.

Articles Wanted

Meeting Set-Up

Been on an outing? Have something fun to say about the Troop?

I'm always looking for stuff to put into the newsletters. I'd welcome all submissions for Scouts or parents.

Remember, if you sign up to come early and help set up and then stay late to help clean up, you earn an hour of service to the troop and your name gets entered into a drawing for a prize at the next Court of Honor.
December's Quiz

December's Prizes:
1st Place - something from the snack & soda machine
2nd Place - something from either the snack or soda machine

Turn your answers into the collection box or email them to Liz.

  1. After a knight was totally covered in armor you could still identify him by this on his shield or surcoat
  2. A thirteenth-century knight would have owned this flexible armor made of interlinked metal rings
  3. By the fifteenth century, knights just weren't that important any more due to the introduction of this from China
