August Canoe Outing

Because of conflicts in scheduling, the August Canoe Outing is going to be a one-day outing rather than a campout. We are still going to canoe on the Fox River (completing two sections of the “Canoe the Fox River District”).

We are going to meet at the WCTC Construction Technology Parking Lot at 8:30 am. We want to get going as soon as possible so please don't be late. Lunch will be at Bethesda Park at around 12 pm. If you want to meet and have lunch, you are welcome. We will then canoe again take out where Hwy I crosses the Fox River. Pick up is at Hwy I.

When: August 25, 2007

Where: Meet at WCTC Construction Technology Parking Lot at 8:30 am
Pick up at Hwy I & the Fox River at 5 pm.

Cost: The cost of this outing depends on how many people are CANOE with us:
          New Lower Fees!
          6 people (minimum): $16/person
          12 people: $12/person
          18 people (maximum): $8/person
          Lunch Only (not canoeing): $5/person

In order to canoe, scouts and adults must have passed the BSA swimmer test as either a Class A or a Class B swimmer. Tests were given during the March Outing and at Summer Camp. Only Class A or Class B swimmers can canoe. If you have not tested yet, see Boni Danner to arrange a test by August 14th.

We need a head count as quickly as possible to give everyone the correct cost. Please have your permissions slips in by August 14th.

2007 Wreath Sale

The last few years, we've had complaints that our wreath sale runs too late and the soccer clubs and other organizations have already gotten the sales. In response, this year's wreath sale will start SEPTEMBER 1st. It will continue throughout September and into October and end at the same time as the Popcorn Sale: October 22nd.

Final Order Forms will be DUE NO LATER THAN THE OCTOBER 23rd Troop Meeting.

This doesn't mean you can slack off, though! Sell early! Sell often!

Order Forms will be available for pick up starting the last week of August (August 27-31) or they will be handed out at the September 11th Troop Meeting. If you pick up your order form, please remember you cannot start selling before September 1st.

Order of the Arrow

Congratulations to Sam D and Ben S! You elected them as the Troop 4 representatives in the Order of the Arrow. Guess what? Mr. Danner was elected into the Order by the Fox River District!

All three of them will be doing their ordeal at the end of August.

Oops - August 7th Meeting

Lost but not Found?

Sometimes... You just need a week to screw your head on straight after vacation. Sorry to everyone who showed up for the August 7th Troop Meeting... Only to find the building locked. We have a large number of items in the Lost and Found. PLEASE look through the box to see if any of it is yours. Unclaimed items by the start of Summer Camp will be donated to local charities or thrown out.
