Great Lakes Centennial Jamboree

September 25-27, 2009

What's this about? Celebrating 100 years of scouting. There'll be merit badges (ones that aren't usually available like Law, Forestry, Pulp & Paper, and Radio), a Pumpkin' Chuckin', contests and prizes, an adventure area. For the older scouts there will be an extreme area with a COPE and climbing course. Saturday night there will even be a concert: The Dweebs.

Webelos (and their parents) can attend as part of the troop!

Cost: $65 / person

Where: EAA Grounds in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Permission slips are available at the troop meeting and on-line.

Co-Ed Camporee

October 16-18, 2009

They're “Scouting for Pirates” to attend a Pirates Weekend & Competition. This is the annual Co-Ed Camporee at Harnischfeger Park in Oconomowoc. Pass along information about this outing to any Girl Scout Troops you know!

There will be a lot of different challenges and activities: cooking, sink the ship, treasure hunt, rigging, timber sawing and more! Saturday there will be a dance.

Cost: $25 / person

Permission slips are available on-line and at troop meetings. Please return by September 22nd. Bring a bag lunch for Friday's dinner.

Wreath & Fall Popcorn Sale

September 11 - October 2 - October 20

Want to have Summer Camp for 2010 paid for? What about outings? The Council's Wreath & Fall Popcorn Sale is here!

Once again, we're selling Winter Woods Wreaths through the Council. The Wreath Sale starts Friday, September 11, 2009. Order forms will be handed out at the September 8 Troop Meeting / Court of Honor. If you can't make that, you can pick them up at ETC anytime during the week.

For the Fall Popcorn Sale, we're selling Pecatonica River Popcorn again. The Popcorn Sale starts Friday, October 2, 2009. Order forms will be handed out at the September 22 troop meeting or can be picked up anytime after that at ETC.

All order forms are DUE back to the Troop Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Wreaths and Popcorn will be available for pick up the weekend of November 20-22 (sorry I can't give a more exact time until close to the date).

We're looking at up to a 40% commission (to reach that we need everyone to SELL to increase our sales from last year). If you want to know who you sold to last year, let me know and I can give you a copy of your last year's sheets.

Hope everyone has a GOOD SALE!

Birthdays

Webelos Day Outing

October 29, 2009

We'll be having our annual Day Outing with Webelos II on October 29, 2009 at Lapham Peak State Park. If you know any Webelos II that would be interested, let Boni Danner know so we can send them the invitation flyer/permission slip. Permission Slips for the Troop will be available at the end of the month.

Planning Lock-In

October 29, 2009

This is it. We're out of Calendar after Creep-O-Ree in November. You know what that means? It's time for the Planning Lock-In.

After the Webelos Day Outing, we'll be spending the night at ETC planning the calendar, watching movies and otherwise having a good time. Start thinking about places you'd like to go in the next year and things you'd like to do. Get your ideas and suggestions in early by writing them down and putting them into the Box at troop meetings during September and October.

Creep-o-Ree

November 6-8, 2009

This year's theme: Mexican Fiesta! There will be costume contests, camp-site decorating contests, cooking contests, a flash-light treasure hunt and much more!

Cost: $35 / person

Permissions slips are available on-line and at the troop meetings. Sign-up deadline is October 23rd. Bring a bag lunch for Friday's dinner.
