Klondike Derby
February 6, 2010

Calling All Parents!

Last year's Klondike went fabulously -- a lot of that in part to the awesome help from the parents who volunteered their time. We need your help to make this year's Klondike Derby a smashing success. The Scouts will be running the events, but we need all the help behind the scenes that we can get so they can enjoy the day also.

What type of help do we need? We need help overseeing the races and judging winners. We need help generally keeping an eye on everyone. We need help running the concession stand and food preparation.

Please sign up at a troop meeting (or send Liz an email).

Calling All Scouts!

Because this is our event, we need every Scout in the Troop helping on February 6th.

March Round Table
March 3, 2010

Troop 4 is responsible for the Boy Scout breakout program at the March 3rd Round Table. We will need Scouts at Butler Middle School at 7 pm to run the breakout. Ideas for what to do will be discussed during the Troop Meetings in January and February.

Summer Camp
July 25-31, 2010

No, it's not too early to be thinking about Summer Camp. The early bird gets the biggest discount.

The Troop will be going to Camp Long Lake this year, the week of July 25-31, 2010.

There will be a packing day July 24th to pack the trailing including personal gear.

The fee schedule is as follows:
Camp Fees
Pay by Feb 9 $240
Pay by May 11 $260
Regular Fee (by Jun 15) $270
Webelos who crossed over
in 2010 by Jun 15 $240
Last Minute $300

2nd Week by Jun 15 $205

Adult by June 15 $120

The earlier you get your permission slip and money in by, the lower the price of camp. Permission slips are available on the troop website and at troop meetings.

IMPORTANT: The new BSA medical forms are required starting this year. This means everyone will have to fill out a new Medical Form including Part B - the doctor's signature. The new medical forms are only good for 12 months and everyone's form was dated prior to camp last year, meaning new forms are needed this year. If you child needs a physical for a sport: bring the BSA form along and get it signed at the same time. Also, some pharmacies run free health clinics... You may be able to get the forms signed there.
