Scoutrageous
August 24, 2011

Come one, come all! Come see what the 2011-2012 Potawatomi Area Council will be doing! Scoutrageous is the kick off to the year. Lots of interesting information will be handed out.

August Court of Honor
August 28, 2011

The Court of Honor is at the end of the month! We’ll recognize all the awards & advancement the Scouts have earned over the summer -- especially at Summer Camp! If you’re close to a rank advancement, see one of our Scoutmasters, there’s still a bit of time to make rank before the Court of Honor.

Where: St. John Neumann, in Neumann Hall (downstairs)
Time: 1 pm

Please email Liz or drop a note off at a Troop meeting with the number of people you will be bringing.

Heidi Pelrine would be interested in any adult that might like to help a scout coordinate the Court of Honor. Most scouts use Court of Honors to fulfill a requirement for the Communications Merit Badge. This is the Court of Honor where Summer Camp awards are presented, so there can be a lot to announce.

Adventure Rock Overnight
August 28-29, 2011

The first two hours of the overnight will be instruction -- teaching us how to climb, etc. The gym closes to the public at 10pm... And then it’s ours until 8 am!

Where: Meet & pick up from Adventure Rock in Pewaukee.
Time: 8 pm - 8 am
Cost: $45 / person (includes $10 equipment rental fee)

FAMILIES WELCOME! This is a great outing and we’d love to have parents and siblings join the fun.

Permission slips & waivers will be out at the Troop Meetings.

Webelos Jam-O-Ree
September 9-11, 2011

We’ve signed up to run an Obstacle Course. Start thinking about what challenges you want the Webelos (I and II) to go through.

Where: Menomonee Part
Time: Meet at ETC at 4:30 PM on September 9; We’re leaving promptly at 5 pm; Returning to ETC about 11 am September 11th.
Cost: $15 / person

Know any Webelos? Invite them to eat at our campsite on Saturday evening.

Adult Coordinators Needed

There are still a few outings that do not have adult coordinators. What’s the job of the adult coordinator? To help the scout that’s coordinating the outing: offering suggestions for campgrounds, keeping on-top of the scout to make sure tasks are done, making reservations since most places will not accept a youth doing so.

Life to Eagle
October 8, 2011

There will be 2 Life-to-Eagle Workshops offered on October 8, 2011 at 9 AM and 1 PM. Space is limited, so pick-up a flyer and sign-up early.

All Life Scouts and their parents should attend this workshop.

Fall Wreath, Popcorn & Coffee Sale
September 24 - October 18, 2011

It’s getting to be that time of the year again: time to earn enough money to pay for next year’s outings!

We’ll be selling Winter Woods Wreaths, Berres’ Brothers Coffee, and Trail’s End Popcorn this fall. Order forms will be handed out at the September 20th Troop Meeting (so don’t miss). The sale starts Saturday, September 24th. Order forms will be due back at the October 18th meeting -- but you can hand them in sooner if you wish.

Start spreading the word to families, friends and neighbors about when we’ll be selling. There will be a weekend of Show-and-Sell at St. John Neumann... Watch for the signup in September.

Liz needs someone to attend the Fall Product Sale training at Scoutrageous for her. If you’re interested, please let her know.

October Webelos Day
October 27, 2011

We’ll be taking Webelos to Lapham Peak at the end of October. Start thinking about what type of FUN activities you can do with them... This is our chance to sell the troop to the Webelos!

October Planning Lock-In
October 27-28, 2011

Oh no! Our calendar’s almost done! We need to plan activities for 2012! The suggestion box will be back out at Troop Meetings. Drop you’re ideas for outings and activities into the box.

New this year: with the Journey to Excellence Quality Award, we’re going to need at least four (4) service projects... But more is better. Have ideas? Drop them in.
