January Cabin Camp
January 20-22, 2012

Enjoy a weekend of fun in the snow at Camp Long Lake! Inside and outside activities will be available -- DRESS and pack ACCORDINGLY. Anyone wishing to attempt to sleep outside must see Mr. Schramke before the outing.

When: January 20-22, 2012
Time: Meet at ETC at 4:30 pm Jan 20. Leaving at 5 pm. Returning to ETC about 11 am Jan 22.
Cost: $20

Please return permission slips by January 11, 2012.

Pinewood Derby

Troop 4 has been asked by four cub scout packs to run their Pinewood Derbies. We really need three or four scouts at each Pinewood Derby.

Pack 163 -- Friday, January 13, 2012, 5:30 pm (Bethesda Elementary)
Pack 4 -- Thursday, January 19, 2012, 5:30 pm (Lowell Elementary)
Pack 260 -- Thursday, January 26, 2012 (Scout Office)
Pack 15 -- Friday, January 27, 2012 (North Prairie)

This WILL count as service hours! Sign up at a troop meeting!

Onatah Cub-o-Ree
January 21, 2012

If you can’t make the January Cabin Camp, consider spending January 21 teaching the cub scouts at the Onatah District Cub-o-Ree. See Liz if you are interested.

Parents, they could use a few more adults if you are interested in helping out as well. Let Liz know if you’re interesting in coming.

P163 Winter Event
February 11, 2012

We’ve been asked to help out at Pack 163’s Winter Event at Indian Mound Reservation on February 11, 2012. There will be a sign up at troop meetings. See Mr. Bomberg for more information.

Crossovers

It’s almost time for Crossover Ceremonies! Watch at troop meetings and your email for announcements of the dates of these Crossovers. This is when we bring the Webelos II into the troop! We’ll need scouts at each Crossover to welcome them.

Troop 4 has a new Scoutmaster! Everyone give a warm hello to Mr. Fred Bomberg! Mr. Bomberg has some fabulous ideas and is very enthusiastic about stepping into his new role.

Pancake Festival
February 18, 2012

Save the date. We will be working at the Rotary Pancake Festival in February. The times of our shift and more information will be announced later. All scouts (and adults) who work get free pancakes.

Life to Eagle Workshop
February 18, 2012

The Council is having another Life to Eagle Workshop. This will talk about the new Eagle Project Workbooks! There is a morning session and an afternoon session. Sign up at the Council’s website. Any scout that HAS NOT gotten PJ’s signature MUST use the new workbook.

Council Dinner
February 23, 2012

The annual Council Recognition Dinner is Thursday, February 23rd. Come spend a night with scouters and see the Potawatomi Area Council’s 2011 Eagle Class! There will be over 100 Eagle Scouts from the Council recognized at the dinner.

Court of Honor & Friends of Scouting
February 28, 2012

Mark your calendars! Our winter Court of Honor will be February 28, 2012. Invite your parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles! Dinner will start at 6 pm with the program to follow.

Liz is looking for pictures from outings. If you have any, that you haven’t given her already, please contact her.

This is also the night that we will have our Friends of Scouting presentation. Friends of Scouting makes a lot of the programs and activities the Council sponsors possible.

District Dinner
March 17, 2012

Save the date! The District Dinner will be at the Delafield Brewhaus on March 17. This is where district awards -- including special district awards for Troop volunteers -- are presented. See Liz if you are interested in attending.

Camp Staff Applications

The Council is accepting applications for Camp Staff... But you have to hurry! Interviews will be conducted starting next week. You can find the application on the Council’s web site.

Crew 4

Crew 4 is being formed at St. John Neumann as a co-ed youth group. Anyone interested see Liz or Boni Danner. The emphasis will be “Religious with Fun”.
