No Troop Meeting April 10, 2012

Because of Spring Break, we will not be meeting on April 10th. Our next troop meeting is April 17.

New Parents Meeting
April 17, 2012

Now that your son’s in the Troop, are you curious about what your role is? We’ll be having a new parent orientation meeting on April 17 during the Troop Meeting. All parents are welcome to attend -- not just the new scouts’ parents.

May Canoe Outing
May 19-20, 2012

Canoe the Wisconsin River & sleep on an island over night! We’ll go in at Spring Green and come off the river at Boscobel. You MUST be at least a Beginner (though Swimmer is preferred) to attend this outing. If you missed the March Outing see Mr. Benkstein or Mr. Bomberg to make arrangements to get tested.

When: May 19-20, 2012. Meet at ETC at 8 am Saturday, returning mid-afternoon Sunday.

Cost: $20 / person

Three hours of canoe training is required -- it will be offered at regular troop meetings.

Permission slips are available. Class A med forms are required. Permissions slips will be DUE by April 24th or you will not be able to attend the outing.

P163 Spring Recruitment Night

We’re been invited by Pack 163 to help out with their Spring Recruitment Night again. We’ll need to have several scouts and come up with a couple of activities. Sign up at the Troop Meetings.

May Round Table
May 2, 2012

The annual May Round Table Cook Out is next month! The OA will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Troops and Packs can compete in a Dutch Oven Dessert Cook Off! It’s also a great opportunity to get to know the other leaders and adults in the Onatah District.

A sign-up for the Dutch Over Dessert Cook Off will be at the Troop Meetings.

Mammoth Cave
June 18-24, 2012

The Reservation & Deposit form is out. Please complete it and return it if you are planning on going on this trip. The deposit form is DUE April 30th.

We’re just about ready with the cost and trip information... Watch for the official permission slip this month.

Summer Camp
July 15-21, 2012

The Early Bird deadline is fast approaching. The price increases after MAY 8th for EVERYONE (including Webelos who just crossed over). Have your permission slip in and paid by May 8 troop meeting to get the Early Bird discount.

Sign Up Early, Sign Up Often

With the size of the Troop growing, it is even more important that we have early and accurate count of who is going on the outings. Please sign up as soon as possible when permission slips come out.

Accurate counts don’t just affect buying the food. Camp site selection, drivers, tour permits, activities can all be affected by the number of people on the outing.

Adults Needed

We need adults willing to work with a scout to coordinate an outing. You do not have to attend the outing, but help the scout with things like making reservations. Outings Needing Adults: August (Adventure Rock), November (Creep-o-Ree), December (Roller Skating)
